Inês Valle is an independent curator and art critic. She holds a BA in Visual Arts and a MA Curatorial Studies both at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (2013), and is a candidate for the MA in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy at Goldsmiths University of London. Valle is the founder and director of the itinerant art platform THE CERA PROJECT, a curatorial project that promoted dialogues with the Global South. She is currently curatorial consultant at Tafeta + Partners in London, an art gallery specialized in Modern and Contemporary African Art. She has also worked as curator assistant at CCB in Portugal (2011) and CCAS in Australia (2011). Her curatorial projects are mostly critical discursive and collaborative platforms that focus on the relations of power between politics, society and artistic practice. Highlights include “God Factor” at Mosteiro de Tibāes in Portugal (2012); “Art Stabs Power” at Bermondsey Project Space in London and at Plataforma Revólver in Lisbon (2014), “Gently I press the trigger” at Polaris Galerie in Paris and at One Gallery in Ramallah (2014); “Project Whose Centenary?” at Igun Street in Benin City (2014); “Indian Émigrés” a collaboration with Pablo Bartholomew about the Goan Community in Portugal (2015) and the exhibition “The Avatāra Suite“ by the Nigerian-born artist Leo Asemota at Tafeta + Partners in London (2015).
